Purpose can be defined as the reason for which something exists or for which something is done.
Here, I am channeling what I feel like my purpose for writing is.
Writing gives me a sense of independence. It allows me to freely flow with my thoughts and to keep myself energized. I am able to hone in on my most authentic thoughts without distractions. When I think about purpose, I think about a lot of the poems that I write to myself. Most of them are for self-empowerment and encouragement. Others are stories of things that I have been through. I write about how I feel about myself and I write about memories that I have as well. I write how I feel in the moment to face what I am feeling head on. Most would run from their feelings but I don't because I feel as though it is unhealthy. I find purpose and hope in writing because I feel as though it is something that Spirit & the multiverse has gifted me with. I accept myself for who I am when I write. I do not feel as though I have to hide anything.
I use writing as a coping mechanism. It has helped saved me from making permanent decisions based on temporary decisions.
Writing has really helped me to stay focused and grounded in who I am as a person. I am able to stay within the present moment regardless of what is going on around me. It also has been very healing in helping me to cope with various circumstances in my life.
I look forward to writing poems, blog entries, thoughts, and books, more often.
I understand that my purpose goes beyond my favorite hobby/talent. However, I know that I can be safe and resilient in however I decide to utilize this medium for my personal development and growth.
